Visit any Holiday Inn® Beijing hotel and you’ll find a city in transition. At times it seems that whole neighbourhoods are being rebuilt. Thankfully, though, certain things remain the same and that includes Holiday Inn’s commitment to service. All our Beijing hotels boast spacious rooms and state-of-the-art facilities, including high speed internet access, gym and fitness suites and business centres.
The central location of our Beijing hotels makes them ideal for leisure travelers. Must-see sights include the Forbidden City, the seat of power during the Ming and Qing dynasties. Go early in the morning to avoid the crowds. Nearby is the huge expanse of Tiananmen Square, the world’s largest public square. Also worth a visit is the Temple of Heaven, a magnificent Ming tower set in a scenic park where locals practise tai-chi, play chess and sing opera.
You’re bound to want to visit the Great Wall. Badaling is the closest section, but if you’ve time head for Simatai or Jinshanling, about 70 miles northeast of Beijing, where the wall is better preserved. You can walk the 5.6 miles (9 kilometres) between the two stations in about four hours.
For nightlife, head to the legendary Chaoyang district, where you’ll find pubs and clubs full of Chinese office workers, students and expats. Or enjoy the convivial atmosphere at the bars and restaurants at your Holiday Inn Beijing hotel, where you’ll find a selection of fine restaurants and regional cuisine.
