The hotel is near the airport but the room was quiet.
Breakfast could be better, but as for Italy it's good ;)

At first, I wasn't sure if i should stay the entire week in this hotel or choose a B&B close to Villasimius.
Fortunately, i took the right decision by staying there the whole week, and i would say i don't regret it at all.
The hotel is in my opinion well located if you have a rental car. Just 10mn from the city center. From there we've been every day, easily east and west (around Chia & Villasimius) to the most beautiful beaches in Europe.
The Executive room was nice with enough space for two and the bed was very comfortable.
The area is very quiet, even if we were close to the airport we didn't hear any planes.
The small fitness room was great, just enough to exercise when needed.
The staff was nice and professional, just a little smile and they would be perfect ;-)

Don't stay at a hotel downtown in Cagliari if you have a rental car. The Holiday Inn is a nice oasis in what seems like a questionable neighborhood (e.g., repair facilities). However, with soundproof windows, even the nearby autostrada poses no problem. Proximity to airport and outlet mall are plus features. There's a pool if your itinerary allows you to take some hours of sun. While the breakfast buffet was about as complete as one could want, the evening menu was rather limited, but the beef fillet was wonderfully tender. Underground parking is available at low cost and it's worth it if the weather isn't guaranteed to be perfect for the days you're there. Compared with places we stayed out and about in Sardinia, the HI was like a luxury hotel. The sole less than 5-star evaluation we would make relates to atmosphere. Things are a bit Spartan, but then the hotel itself is not all that big (4 floors with [?] 80 rooms), so there is a limit what kind of amenities can be provided. That said, we would without the slightest hesitation stay there again. 5 stars!!!
