I stayed at Holiday Inn sakinaka in Mumbai on the 16-17th of Feb.
Rooms were comfortable but service was pathetic . Firstly checking in to the hotel took about 50 mins, during the same time I had breakfast (which was nice) also and the room was still not ready. Next day I ordered room service for lunch ( this was the worst experience in the hotel by far), while ordering I told Kavita( who took my order) that I was short on time and wanted everything as quickly as possible to which her reply was don't worry everything will be in your room in 30mins. The food reached my room after exactly an hour and then the server is calling up the room service staff (from my room) asking if he can leave the tray or does he have to get it back( that was quite irritating). Next we start our lunch to find out that out of the 7 portions of bread that I ordered only 2 had come, so I call up Kavita again and ask for the manager or the head chef with the rest order. This again takes 15 odd mins by then I was late enough to leave hungry. That's when this head chef comes up to my room with the further order, promptly I told him to take everything back as I was super late and all of us were leaving hungry.
After all this commotion in the hospitality industry I was expecting an smooth checkout with an apology. To my surprise the whole bill of room service was attached to my bill for which I raised a word again saying the chef or manager should clarify this and not bill me for what did not reach my room (mostly everything else was also wasted though), again to my surprise the chef and Kavita came up to the reception saying that the whole order had been delivered and that started an argument. Eventually I thought it was just a waste of my time so I paid and left.
Only if I had a choice I would not go to such a hotel again who do understand customer ethics and hospitality is not in there dictionary.

Great nice new location, but front desk staff lacking experience. Upo my arrival early morning, I was informed that there is no room available (which I understand) and I was sat in a lobby to wait. Few minutes later another guest arrived and argued with the front desk that his is a plainum IHG member etc. etc and he was given a room promptly! When I confronted the front desk, miraculously a room has been found for me too. Still don't understand why you need to argue to get a good service here.
I ask the hotel to order me a Meru or Mega cab for certain hour. I was assure by the front desk person (Rohit) that he will take care of it. Predictably when I showed up, no taxi was waiting, Rohit disappeared (his shipf was over) and nobody had any record of taxi being ordered. Luckily there are always Cool Cabs available and we had to get one.
Lastly a week after my stay, there is still no credit for the stay to my IHG account. Too difficult to follow up on such simple task? I stayed in Crowne Plaza Bangalore 3 days leter and the cerdit points were posted prompltly withng 48 hours...
There is 1.3 billion people in India and I am sure if the current staff is not interested or not qualified to do their job properly, there must be millions of others to do it better.
